School/Major: Tower Hamlets College, Video Game Design Major

Favorite Camp Memory: Although I have so many amazing memories from last year that I will hold dearly for the rest of my life, my favourite times were always the end of session stick dedication ceremonies. Stick dedication is where each camper and counsellor throws a stick into the fire and dedicates it to the people and things that helped them and that they enjoyed during camp in front of all the other campers at the benches. What I find wonderful about it is that (despite the campers being in a situation that at a young age I would probably find quite nerve-wracking or scary) because of the friendships, trust and independence that has been built over the last two weeks the campers are so open about their thoughts and although it’s a great honour to have a camper mention you I enjoy it mostly because I feel like it’s a marker of the personal growth each camper has made throughout camp. I also see it as a testament to the spirit of friendly pines camp because it’s such a supportive and welcoming place that just allows you to be yourself without any judgement, that goes for staff members too.

Dream Job: I’m a little bit uncertain on what exactly I want to do in life but I know I want to do something within creative arts. Ultimately I’d like to follow the path of a James Gunn or J.J. Abrams who have made successful video games and films also.

Actual Career Plan: If I don’t make it in a creative industry I would probably try to go into  construction with a view to starting my own construction business.

Favorite Food: This has changed drastically since FPC last year but I would have to say Chipotle Burritos, American Cuisine and, thanks to Nico Giambanco, Fuego Takis (They’re so good!)

Coolest Place I’ve Explored: I would honestly say that exploring around the boulders near camp last summer during pre-camp at night was one of the coolest moments in my life. It was just such an unusual and exciting experience having come from London only a few days ago and I think that it really made me fall in love with Camp and Arizona

Favorite Camp Memory: There was this boy that took Drawing and Painting and he was from Mexico and he was absolutely amazing at drawing. He took his time on the same piece for the entire session and it turned out astounding; it looked like a design for a longboard or a storyboard on Cartoon Network. I did a variety of different awards for certain kids who took the class and from him I painted a video game character we both enjoyed with ‘Amazing Artist’ in Spanish. When it came to departure day I met both of his parents because he wanted to introduce me to them and he gave me a giant hug. Then I told his mother he was extremely talented and they should support his artwork because he has the potential to go somewhere with it. His mother looked at me said she had no idea where his abilities came from but she knows he has talent and thanked me for inspiring him.
