Adventure Trails is a 12-night program for campers ages 10 to 16 that focuses on horseback riding, horsemanship, and horse care. It is designed for campers who love horses, have extensive previous riding experience, have spent significant time around horses, and want to ride throughout the program.

Campers who like horses but do not have extensive experience should choose a different two-week session. They can still sign up for plenty of horse activities as part of their regular camp schedule.

Adventure Trails has very limited enrollment. Previous riding experience and extensive time spent around horses are required for participation.

Adventure Trails campers alternate between two daily schedules. One day is focused on horses, riding, horsemanship, and horse care. On the alternating day, campers follow a personalized activity schedule created from preferences submitted before arrival.

LIT (Leader in Training) and CIT (Counselor in Training) are leadership experiences for returning Friendly Pines campers who have “aged out” of our standard camps and are ready to take on a leadership role in the camp community.

LIT, age 15: A two-week introduction to leadership, responsibility, and the transition from camper to role model. LITs remain part of the camp community while beginning to learn what it means to support others.

CIT, age 16: A four-week next step in the leadership pathway, with greater responsibility and guided opportunities to contribute to activities and cabin life.

Payment Schedule

PAYMENT METHODS

Enrolling early spreads payments across the year. The deposit is due at registration and reserves the camper’s spot. The remaining balance is divided into six equal automatic monthly payments, charged to the payment method on file on the first of each month from December 1 through May 1. We will send a reminder before each payment is processed.

LIT follows the Mini Camp payment and discount structure. CIT follows the standard two-week payment and discount structure. Adventure Trails follows the two-week discount and monthly-payment structure, with a $1,100 deposit.

Returning Family Priority Access

Enrollment for Summer 2027 will open in 3 Tiers.

September 15th, 2026 - Tier 1. These are families who were enrolled at Friendly Pines Camp in summer 2026.

September 22nd, 2026 - Tier 2. These are families who did not attend camp in 2026, but attended in a previous summer. This also includes families who joined us for any 2026 Family Camps or who were on a waitlist for summer 2026.

October 1st, 2026 - Open Enrollment for all.

Enroll early and your camper will receive a camp store credit which can be redeemed for Friendly Pines Camp merch & swag. Our 2027 camp merch line will be released in the spring. Your camp store credit can be used online ahead of summer or parents can use it in-person on arrival & departure days.

Pay in full by December 15th, 2026 and receive $100 off your 2-week tuition or $50 off Mini Camp.

 

If you are interested in paying-in-full, please complete registration and pay your initial deposit, then contact our office to process your remaining balance.

Apply for a Campership

We want to help make Friendly Pines possible for families who may not be able to afford the full cost of camp. Our Campership Fund is primarily self-funded, allowing us to offer a limited number of need-based awards each summer. If financial assistance would help make camp possible for your family, we encourage you to apply.

Help Make Camp Possible

Our Campership Fund is supplemented by donations from the Friendly Pines community. Tax-deductible gifts can be made through the American Camp Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with funds designated to support Camperships at Friendly Pines. Every contribution helps us make camp accessible to more kids and families.

Cancellations

Each payment is fully refundable for 30 days after submission. After 30 days, payments become non-refundable. If you paid more than is due under the standard payment schedule at the time of cancellation, the amount paid ahead is refundable. Tuition insurance is the only way to receive a refund for otherwise non-refundable tuition, subject to the insurance policy's covered circumstances and terms.

Tuition insurance

We recommend protecting your investment with third-party tuition insurance, available during registration. Coverage may apply when a camper cannot attend because of illness, injury, or another covered circumstance. Families should review the provider's policy for complete coverage, exclusions, and claim requirements.

Transfers

If space is available, campers may transfer to another Session or Mini Camp during the same year. Canceled enrollment payments cannot be transferred or credited to a future year.

Family Camps

New to Friendly Pines? Come spend a weekend with us before summer and experience camp for yourself. First-Timers Camp is a Family Camp designed specifically for prospective families and families preparing for their first summer at Friendly Pines. It’s a chance to explore camp, try activities, meet our team, and get a feel for the Friendly Pines experience before enrolling or arriving for your camper’s first session.

If your camper enrolls for summer 2027, their $150 child tuition from First Timer’s Camp is credited toward their summer session.

Can returning families attend First Timer’s Camp? At this time, we are keeping enrollment for this Family Camp open to prospective and First-Time families. We would love to see our current families, alumni, and other FPC community members at our Summer Friends & Family Camps!
