Friendly Pines Camp

Meet Our Staff

Adam Esposito

Camp Director

Adam first joined Friendly Pines Camp in 2015 as a counselor and is now the Camp Director. He is involved in many parts of camp, including hiring and interviewing staff. Adam’s favorite part of camp life is the people—the campers he’s watched grow, the staff he’s mentored, and his daily team. He also loves the unique mix of office work and outdoor adventures. For 2026, Adam looks forward to connecting with new and returning campers and staff and seeing camp come alive again!

Eldon Orgill

Program Director

Eldon joined Friendly Pines Camp in 2022 as a counselor. He now helps Adam with staffing during the off-season and leads the Program Staff and counselors in the summer to ensure camp runs smoothly. Eldon’s favorite part of camp is being outdoors and interacting with campers to create unforgettable memories. Eldon is most excited about building an awesome environment for campers and staff and joining in on camp activities whenever possible!

Sayaka pierson

Business Manager

Sayaka has been part of Friendly Pines Camp’s office staff since 2018. Now as the Business Manager, she mainly handles registration and bookkeeping. Sayaka loves connecting with camp families in the lead-up to summer and enjoys getting to know campers in the Post Office once camp is in full swing. One of her favorite moments is arrival day—seeing both new and returning campers full of excitement (and maybe a few nerves!) and finally putting faces to names she’s worked with all year.

Valerie Esposito

new family coordinator

Valerie first joined Friendly Pines Camp in 2013 as a counselor. She is our New Family Coordinator. She ensures every family’s questions are answered and they’re ready to send their campers to FPC. Valerie loves working with families and helping campers get pumped for all the amazing memories they’ll make—just like she has! She’s also excited to collaborate with Adam, Eldon, Sayaka, and the rest of the incredible FPC team to create unforgettable experiences for our campers.

UNCLE BUD & BROWNIE

OUR FOUNDERS

Friendly Pines Camp was founded in 1941 by Bud & Isabelle Brown, better known as “Uncle Bud” and “Brownie” around camp. FPC has grown tremendously since their first camping trip here with their children and several of their little friends, and now stands as a monument to their life’s work. Generations of Arizona youngsters have benefitted from their inspiration and devotion.

JACK & BEBE BROWN MAY

OWNERS & DIRECTORS EMERITI

In the early 1960s, Bebe Brown May and her husband Jack May assumed ownership of the camp from Bebe’s father & mother. Throughout both of their lives, Jack & Bebe maintained the camp traditions and built Friendly Pines into what it is today. Jack was a certified camp director (ACA) and served for four years active duty as a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force. Bebe was a former teacher and counselor, fluent in Spanish.

Jack passed away in 2012, and Bebe followed him to her eternal rest in 2021. We miss them every day!
